Dustin Moore Recognized as 2026 Engaged in Action Award Nominee

Artists Helping the Homeless is proud to celebrate Dustin Moore, our Community Manager in Douglas County, for being recognized as a 2026 Engaged in Action Award Nominee by Engage Douglas County.

The Engaged in Action Awards recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations that exemplify the values of Engage Douglas County, including demonstrated commitment to reducing substance misuse and suicide, promoting mental health, engaging in behavioral health issues affecting Douglas County residents, and serving the Douglas County community.

Dustin’s recognition is especially meaningful because his work is rooted in lived experience. After overcoming addiction, homelessness, and incarceration, Dustin rebuilt his life through recovery, accountability, and service. Today, he uses that experience to support others facing similar challenges. Through his leadership with AHH, his role in Douglas County, his work with the Lawrence Homeless Response Team, and his facilitation of SMART Recovery meetings at the Douglas County Jail, Dustin helps others find stability, hope, and a path forward.

Dustin represents the heart of AHH’s mission: people who have walked through hardship becoming leaders who help others do the same. He is a true difference maker, and we are grateful to see his dedication, humility, and service recognized by Engage Douglas County.

Congratulations, Dustin. We are proud of you.
