Kar Woo Honored with 2026 Marion Nichols Caring Service Award
Artists Helping the Homeless is proud to share that founder, Kar Woo, has been selected as the recipient of the Marion Nichols Caring Service Award. He is being recognized at the 2026 Summit on Homelessness and Housing, hosted by the Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition on April 23–24, 2026, in Manhattan, Kansas. The summit brings together front-line providers, people with lived experience, policymakers, and community leaders from across the state to strengthen efforts to end homelessness.
This award is especially meaningful because it honors service rooted in compassion, perseverance, and a commitment to helping people move toward self-sufficiency. Those values are central to Kar’s work and to the mission of Artists Helping the Homeless. For years, Kar has led with humility and heart, helping build a model of care that restores dignity, removes barriers, and supports people as they pursue stability, recovery, and hope. We are deeply grateful to see his service recognized in this way.
