Gandhi - Be the ChangeHomelessness has become a challenge in the veteran community. About 1800 homeless veterans live in the area. About 87 percent of homeless veterans suffer from a mental illness or substance abuse. Nationally, veterans make up 11 percent of the adult U. S. population, but they make up 25 percent of the homeless, according to the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
Jennifer Mann
“There are homeless in Johnson County, Olathe and Shawnee, except they are more hidden. There are at least 14,000 homeless people in the Kansas City area.”
Cynthia Larcom, Executive Director of the Homeless Services Coalition of Greater Kansas City

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the end, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.”
Mother Theresa

Sow an action, and you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, and you reap a character;
Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.
