AHH is partnering with MarksNelson Accounting firm and the Museum at Prairiefire to present InVisible, an exhibit featuring powerful, inspired art created by homeless and recently homeless Kansas Citians.
The homeless are becoming an invisible society. They’re right in front of our eyes yet many refuse to see them, even acknowledge their presence. Not only are they trying to survive on the streets but they’re trying to overcome society’s stigmas. A simple smile or hello can make all the difference. Designed to challenge perceptions of the homeless, to give them voice and visibility through their artwork, and to showcase their talents, all proceeds from the sale of the art and poetry exhibited will go to the 12 artists.
InVisible runs from September 26 through December at the Museum at Prairiefire, 5801 W. 135th St., Overland Park, Kansas.
